Neuroscience, Consciousness and (What Might be) an Awkward Conversation about the Racial Divide in America

Eric was born and raised in Miami, Florida in the middle of the last century. He has over 35 years’ experience in coaching and developing managers and executives, ranging from a career at IBM to his own long-standing coaching and consulting practice. Eric holds a B.S. in Management Science as well as many other certifications and distinctions, including as a Certified NeuroTransformational Coach and license holder for training on the Seven Levels and Neuroscience through BEabove Leadership, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Training, facilitator in the Future Search Network, and Myers-Briggs Certification. Eric is a passionate baseball player and is a Hall of Fame Member of the DC Men’s Senior Baseball League. He is the Treasurer of the Austin, Texas Chapter of 100 Black Men of America and a volunteer mentor in Communities in Schools of Central Texas. More on Eric’s work.

Kisha is a business owner, former human resources leader, corporate trainer, leadership coach, and expert on the topics of confidence, self-empowerment and diversity, equity & inclusion. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from CSU Long Beach, in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, minor in Spanish and a MBA in Management from Sacred Heart University. She is a certified executive coach (CPCC), & has 20 years corporate HR experience coaching leaders from over 50 countries globally. She has developed a signature program to help early to mid-career professional women break through their internal glass ceiling of self-doubt & fear so that they can get the career advancement or business results that they deserve. Kisha is a graduate of BEabove Leadership’s Neuroscience, Consciousness and Transformational Coaching program.

Tom is a retired ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) pastor, who has served congregations in Columbus, Ohio, on Chicago’s south side, and in South Minneapolis, where he co-pastored Calvary Lutheran Church with his spouse Becky for over 13 years. A graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, Tom also did advanced studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Tom has always worked with diverse congregations in urban areas, and also founded the Urban Arts Academy, a non-faith-based community arts non-profit organization at Calvary Church for pre-school through high school. Calvary Church is one block from Cup Foods at 38th St. and Chicago Ave., where George Floyd was lynched on Memorial Day of this year. Tom is a long-time fan of the Seven Levels of Effectiveness.

Shannon is founder and CEO of Matter of the Heart® and developer of the Resilience4 Training Program. She specializes in teaching law enforcement professionals to be resilient and more effective in their professional and personal lives. A former Lieutenant with the California Highway Patrol, Shannon’s twenty-five years with the Highway Patrol earned her numerous commendations including the recognition of a California Legislature Assembly Resolution and a Department of California Highway Patrol Commissioner’s Commendation. Shannon is a Certified Neuro-Transformational Coach, a BEabove Leadership license holder for training on the Seven Levels and Neuroscience, an Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner, HeartMath Coach/Trainer, and Certified Hypnotherapist. She has trained extensively in trauma-informed care, neuroscience, and resilience-building to partner with others in creating personal well-being and resilience.

As President of MindSpring Metro DC, Denise Minor helps both organizations and individuals perform at a higher level through experiential-based learning and development. Before MSMDC, Ms. Minor spent over 28 years in public service as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As an FBI instructor, she worked as a facilitator on the FBI’s leadership development program team. Denise is a certified Co-Active Professional Coach. She is also a certified NeuroTransformational Coach and a licensed trainer on the Seven Levels and Neuroscience through BEabove Leadership.
